I have a secret to share with you about marketing.  Ready…drumroll…here it is:

In my nine plus years  of doing online social media marketing, primarily with authors, the number one reason I always got for authors not selling their books was because  they didn’t have the time to market themselves.

Time that culprit.

No one has it, but they all know about it.

So, that got me thinking.  If people say they want to market, but they don’t have the time, what’s the problem?  After all, we all have the same amount of time every day and some of us get more done than others.

Here’s the TRUTH, these authors, didn’t make marketing their PRIORITY.

Funny thing about priorities.  If it’s important to you, you make the time and you invest the time to make it happen.  If you want to learn social media marketing, you set up the time every day to make it happen.

If you want to go to college and earn your degree, you make the time to sign up and get in a class.

Marketing is the same way.  If it isn’t a priority for you or your company, guess what – you’re not going to get the business you want.

So the real question you have to answer is how come marketing your product or service is not a priority for you.  After  you answer that, you can determine the other costs and plan of action.
